Be My Princess (GREE)

this will be some sort of a short intro and review on the game(?)

So I’ll start with Be My Princess by GREE.

Platform: Android/iPhone/iPod Touch

About this game:
This story is set in modern times where the princes of six kingdoms come together. The player is a regular girl who has just landed herself a dream job as a fashion designer. She then finds her fate intertwined with her chosen prince and his palace life. A serendipitous romance between an ordinary girl and a prince develops as the player levels up within the gameplay.

So basically you are a girl who is searching a job for anything that is related to the fashion world to no avail, until, one day you receive a letter from a well-known fashion house (which is your favorite) which says that you’ll be hired there, so you have to move to Charles.

When you arrive, the main fashion designer (which name was something Pierre I believe <(^^’)) tells you immediately after introducing yourself to him, that you have a job in which you will bring a dress for Cynthia (a well known model) to the Charles’ Palace.

There, as if fate was playing a trick for you, Cynthia makes you go to the palace ball in her stead, making you wear the dress while she goes to another place on a date with her boyfriend.

That was a very short summary about the intro/common path for the game ^^

Forgot to say that while all of this happens, you also get to meet from time to time the 6 princes in the game. It’s a very cute game, free and the art is pretty!
But sometimes there are some errors on the facial expressions, which don’t match which what they are saying about them, e.g.:

(I put Cynthia’s ones since she’s the most one who has this kind of errors)

However, it’s pretty nice to play!!

Here’s the intro for each of the princes:

Personality: He’s kind of stoic and I don’t really understand much his character since every time he appears, seems to be looking at you to hear your opinion or thoughts. He even searched for you at your work place.
How he treats you (common route):
As Pierre highlights, he seems to treat you especially well, like asking for your opinions and such. It seems that William isn’t that kind of character. He treats you very kindly.

Personality: A very proud and serious prince who orders everyone around. Even if he doesn’t really show it, he’s actually very caring which he shows in a somewhat difficult way (tsundere). He doesn’t get along with Joshua.
How
he treats you (common route): He treats you somewhat roughly, so you obviously, say to him that he’s rude, which just amuses him, since no one has ever gone against his orders. Also, he acts as if he doesn’t care about you, but in a somewhat rude way, he shows his concern and kindness for you.

Personality: He’s the cheery one of the princes, he is always smiling and acts like a child sometimes. He likes to put ridiculous nicknames for everyone (including the princes), and often gets his butler into trouble since he always tries to run away from his duties as a prince from his country.
How he treats you (common route):
From the start, he’s one the princes who treats you kindly. He seems to be taken by you from the first time you meet (just after Cynthia made you wear her dress fro the ball, since he was your partner), and later when you are depressed, he notices it and takes you in a flight to go to another country to cheer you up.

Personality: He’s the youngest of all princes, and though he knows it, he doesn’t like to be treated as such. He’s kind and loves his little brother very much, to the point where when his little brother asks for him to play with him at the Royal ball, he accepts it after somewhat scolding his little brother for it.
How he treats you (common route):
He treats you indifferently at first, but after an incident with Roberto, he blushes pretty often whenever you met him in the common route. Also, he kind of feels embarrassed after you saw him how he gave in to his little brother and started to play hide and seek in the royal ball pretty seriously.

Personality: He’s somewhat like Keith, dignified, but even more rough. Though he’s like that, he’s also pretty innocent, since he blushes madly whenever he hears the word “love”. He’s also strict, since his household seems to have so many rules that even his royal butler doesn’t know from where to begin. And he is also somewhat intimidating.
How he treats you (common route):
He treats you even worse than Keith(?) not to the point of making you hurt, but to the point of irritating you since he treats you as if “commoners” don’t have good qualities. He even goes as far as when he discovers you work for Pierre, he says something along the lines of Pierre’s standards for hiring people became pretty low.

(Announced availability at the end of August 2012)
Personality:
He’s very kind and sweet. Loves wine and is very caring to everyone. I don’t really know what much to say because those 2 lines just really summed it all about him.
How he treats you (common route):
As I said before, he’s the most caring and sweetest of all 6 princes. When he hears by chance that you are depressed, he even gives you encouraging and useful words, which makes you feel a lot better. And he also took care that you didn’t encounter anything displeasing at the ball. No, really, HE IS THIS SWEET!

Gameplay:

It’s sort of like an otome game, but since it’s free, it has some limitations.

You have a total of 5 Love Passes daily, in which they will recharge(?) at 11am UTC.

This Love Passes will let you see daily a total of five episodes of a chapter (which are 20 chapters in total). Some of them are pretty long and others are pretty short, there are even some in which you don’t meet any of the princes at all.

As for the Endings, you have 4 types: Secret Happy Ending, Happy Ending, Secret Normal Ending and Normal Ending. Those who have the “Secret” label, are the ones you get if your Royal Factors are high and depending on your chemistry with the prince, you’ll get the Happy one or the Normal one. Also the “Secret’s” ones will have the prince in your route to give you something.

To raise your status (which is necessary) you have to: Play Gacha (which depending on which it is, it costs 100 gacha points or 200 gacha points) and complete the collection sheet; or you can go to Royal Parties, which will raise your Royal Factors (the number depends on your royal status) and +50 cruz.

If you have many of the same item in the Gacha collection sheet, you can sell them. You can get Gacha points through greeting Princess Mates (which you can find at My Room>Mate List>Find Princess Mates) and writing on their Message Boards.

Also, every time you get a Gacha item, you’ll also get a certain amount of cruz, depending on their rareness the prices are lower or higher.

As for the Royal Parties, there are also Bonuses, in which they will let you choose from 3 different boxes, and depending on the box you chose, you will get 50 cruz/Gacha Points/Royal Factors. There are also events that usually last for some days (can’t say exactly how much) in which will raise your chance of winning at the Royal Parties, and also get more Bonuses, with a higher amount of Gacha Points, Royal Factors and Cruz.

TIPS for playing:

Since it’s a free game, with a limitation of 5 love passes for a day, there’s also the possibility of buying more love passes if you don’t want to wait for the next day. But since I don’t have that much money on me (it’s not that expensive, it’s just that I’m saving for a future trip to Japan with my friends, and every coin counts), here are some tips for those newcomers.

When I first played this game, I made the error of almost losing the 8000 cruz that I had when I first came. Why an error? Because not much later in the game, you’ll encounter with a Mission in which you have to buy a dress for the Sweet Route which costs exactly 8000 cruz. So I had to lose almost a week of playing, wasting the time that I had, on going to Royal Parties.

Also, try to go as many Royal Parties as you can in a day, since there are Missions in which requires a certain amount of them to complete it. I advise you to get a Princess Mate which status is pretty high, because like this you’ll get a 99% chance of winning.

And lastly, get as many Princess Mates as you can, because they will be very helpful to you whenever you need to raise your cruz (as in, when you play the Gacha, you’ll mostly have a high chance of getting an item which you previously had already, so you can sell it).

Overall opinion:
Play it! It’s worth a try!
I’m pretty hooked with it right now, though sometimes it’s pretty tiresome to raise cruz and such, but… I think it’s worth it! And it’s free, so I can’t ask for more!

Walkthroughs:

You can find one at:  Kokoro Café Forum

Since it’s a closed thread, you’ll need an account to see it.
For now, it’s the only walkthrough I’ve found on the net, others are still in process to. And they are actualizing it with every new available prince, which is a really good job. So don’t forget to thank them for taking the time to do this, since it takes a lot of effort to do so. ^^

(BTW if you are a lover for the tsundere type, you ABSOLUTELY MUST play this, since it’s FULL of them xD)

[And dammit, who thought that making a post like this was so difficult! =A= Oh! BTW I lied about this being a "short review"]
